Separatists intensify vicious propaganda against VDCs
8/26/2013 11:46:03 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: Separatists, read bed fellows of terrorists, are spreading canards about Village Defence Committee (VDC) in futile attempt to disarm them. Separatists are working on ISI sponsored game plan of hounding out Hindus even from Jammu region, after having successfully done it in Kashmir.
Latest in this line of canard is terrorists turned separatists Yasin Malik. Malik who has said VDCs are like Ikhwanis and they have committed enormous crime.
Ikhwanis have recorded history of taking on fellow terrorists and had to an extent played a part in reducing terrorism.
Even there are Muslim VDCs who are also doing equally credible job, but separatists have not spoken a word against them. The fact that separatists on the instruction of their handlers across the borders are targeting the VDCs exposed their nefarious game plan.
Separatists have been deliberately targeting VDC with wrong and twisted facts to spread a false message across the country so as to generate debate and in hope of getting support from so called human right activists.
Malik had in the past also raised such issues in Delhi, only to be rightly objected by some people with strong nationalistic leaning.
VDC model has been copied by many states affected by terrorists and naxal violence. They have proven quite effective. The funding to them is done under Security Related Expenditure which is given by Centre.
Any decision in this regard can be taken by the Centre, with state having limited role, which at the most can issue statement about objectives and work done by VDC to highlight their sacrifice, but it has even failed in it only helping separatists .
