PDP propagating reconciliatory policy for establishing lasting peace in sub-continent: Mufti

JAMMU, Aug 26: Exhorting party cadre to work for strengthening secular fabric in the State, patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that the biggest of message of his party was to spread peace, amity and tranquility in this region. He said PDP has not only strengthened relations among different regions and sub-regions of the State but also facilitated peace in the sub-continent.
Addressing a function to welcome senior BJP leader Ishtaq Ahmed Wani who along with hundreds of his supporters joined PDP here today, Mufti said that his party has pioneered a political and economic agenda to establish sustainable peace in the sub-continent.
"Establishing lasting peace and to consolidate the reconciliation process is on the top of the agenda of PDP ", he said and added that party would continue its effort to normalize relations between India and Pakistan.
"Our party, through its pro-peace policies, has consolidated reconciliation process and facilitated the efforts of establishing peace in this region", he said, added that beginning of cross LoC trade, opening of Srinagar-Muzafarabad and Poonch-Rawalakote roads are noticeable achievements of PDP".
He further mentioned that it was result of the reconciliatory policies of PDP that there was complete peace and normalcy on border from Kathua to Kargil during PDP regime. He, however, regretted that present government has failed to carry forward that agenda of peace in the State.
Welcoming those who joined PDP, Mufti said that Doda-Kishtwar region has strategic importance in entire South Asian sub-continent due to availability of water in this region. He said that inhabitants of Doda-Kishtwar have first right on the water flowing from the region. He informed the gathering PDP has already prepared a document for socio-economic growth of the people of Doda-Kishtwar.
Along with Ishtaq Ahmed Wani, prominent among others who joined PDP included Hafiz Wani and Manzoor Hakim.
