KATHUA, Aug 26 : Legal Metrology Department (LMD), today recovered Rs 31100 fine from shopkeepers and other business establishments for violating provisions Weights and Measures Act 1997 and Packages Commodities Rules.
A team of the LMD Kathua headed by the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Ajay Verma alongwith Inspectors Legal Metrology, Vicky Sharma and Jagdeep Raj conducted checking of Grocery , Hardware, Goldsmiths, Sweet shops, Flour Mills, Vegetable and Fruit sellers at Kathua, Budhi, Dhanni, Bakhta Sanjimorh, Seshwan, Chann Arrorian, Dayalachack, Hiranagar, Phinter and its adjoining areas of the district. During the inspection 40 traders were booked and fined Rs..31100.00 for violation of various provisions of J & K Weights and Measures Act 1997 and Packages Commodities Rules . |
