| Court awards one year imprisonment to driver | | Negligent driving | | Jammu, Aug 26: CJM, Jammu S R Gandhi today awarded one year imprisonment and to Sham Singh driver of Matador who was facing trial in the case for the last 10 yrs.
According to the police case that on November 25, 2003 police received an information that a matador from Bari Brahmana to Jammu in a rash and negligent manner when reached at Gangyal Chowk hit a Cycle Rickshaw as the consequence the occupants in the rickshaw have sustained injured and shifted to GMC. During the investigation one Noor Mohammad succumbed to injuries and police presented Challan against Sham Singh in the Court.
CJM Jammu S R Gandhi after hearing CPO Sanjay Kohli with Senior PO Rajeshwar Basotra appearing for the state observed that prosecution has proved his case and awarded one year RI and fine to the tune of Rs 1000 to Sham Singh.
In another case CJM Jammu S R Gandhi also awarded five months rigorous imprisonment to one Rajeshwar Singh a teacher of private school who was facing trial in a forcibly snatching of motorcycle. (JNF) |
