Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 26: Organizing Committee constituted to celebrate Teachers Day in Kathua, has criticized the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) making social science compulsory in English. According to press release, a meeting of Committee was held at Kathua under the chairmanship of Satinder Singh, in which several issues related to teachers' fraternity were discussed. Speaking on the occasion, the teachers said that in Bhaderwah and adjoining hilly areas, social sciences were being studied in Urdu or Hindu but in Kathua and other districts, it has been made compulsory for students to study same in English. "It has created a chaos like situation, as it is also the demand of students of Kathua for not making Social Sciences compulsory in English but BOSE authorities have turned a blind eye, which is an undemocratic process", they said. They further alleged that system of giving Master grade to teachers has become a conspicuous method of corruption. "Once promotions have been done, the promoted teachers started roaming to office of CEOs and Director for adjustments. "In this process precious time get wasted while some touts make their fortunes by getting pecuniary benefits by adjustments", they observed. Master Shivnandan, Manohar Kumar, Surinder Singh, Manzoor Ali, Shivdev Singh, Sher Ali, Premnath, Suresh Kumar besides others also attended the meeting. |
