early times report Jammu, Aug 26: Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) Jammu organized an interactive meeting with Railway Authorities and demanded introduction of direct rail link with Bangalore and new express trains between New Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur from Jammu The railway authorities headed by Jagdish Chander, Chairman, Passenger Services Committee, Railway Board accompanied by P K Patnayak and Uppan Kumar, Members, Passenger Services Committee, Railway Board, N C Goyal, DRM, Railway Firozpur, Upjeet Singh, Sr DCM, RN Meena, DTM etc were present in this interactive session. Speaking on the occasion Y V Sharma President CCI said that the infrastructure at this Railway Station is not sufficient as the present railway station was built around 42 years ago with two platforms and demanded upgradation in the infrastructure. During the meeting CCI Jammu representatives also demanded to expedite 'Double lanning of Railway Track from Jammu - Jallandhar'; Electrification of the Railway track between Jammu to Jallandhar and another entrances to the Railway Station for properly managing the rush of the passengers and demanded introduction of atleast two new Shatabadhi Trains(Morning & Evening) from Jammu to Delhi, two more trains on Mumbai route and one train for Ahmedabad to Jaipur may be sanctioned. Other demands raised during this meeting included 'Direct Train' between Jammu-Banglore and Jammu -Chandigarh. Members also demanded construction of an extra over foot Bridge from Plate form No.3 to decongest the main platform, introduction of Trolley system at Jammu Railway Station for the benefit of the passengers and MFCs with budget Hotels as mentioned by the Union Railway Minister in the budget speech 2010. "The Minister has announced to set up more MFCs with budget Hotels at various places including J&K. Till date no action Taken So far, CCI Jammu representatives said. N C Goyal, DRM, Firozpur assured the Chamber leaders that Railways is going to install two sets of escalators at Jammu Railway Station and a new platform will also be constructed at Jammu Railway Station very soon. He also assured that he will resolve all the issues pertaining to the business community in a right manner. Prominent among others present in the meeting include Anil Gupta, Jr Vice President CCI, Arun Gupta, Secretary General CCI, Deepak Aggarwal, Secretary CCI and Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Treasurer CCI while Sham Lal Langer, Sr Vice President CCI, presented the Vote of thanks to the gathering.
