Sports Reporter Jammu, Aug 27: The 16th District Jammu Taekwondo championship was organized by District Jammu Taekwondo Association, under the aegis of Jammu & Kashmir Taekwondo Association at Indoor complex, MA stadium where in around 300 players participated to hone their skills and vie for the top honours. The students of Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana brought laurels to their school thereby bagging 1 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals and also over all 2nd position under the able guidance of Ruchi Charak (Trustee) and Pankaj(Instructor) the students excelled to the best of their abilities and talent and gave a tough time to their opponents thereby bringing glory to the school. Gold Medal was bagged by Himani Gupta(class IV) where as silver medal winners include Komal (class IV), Janvi Thapa(class V), Pratham (class VI) and bronze medals were taken by Akash Charak(class IV), Riya Mahajan(class IV), Harivansh (class IV),Aditya Sharma(class IV), Jasmeet Kaur(class V), Rohan Sharma(class V), Bhanu Pratap (class VI)and Siya(class VI). Meanwhile, The students of Humanity Public School (Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana) brought Laurels to the school by winning 10 medals. 11 students of H.P.S participated in it. Vishal Sharma, Neha Jaral and Shefali Atri won Gold Medals, Deepak Kumar, Kuljeet, Mukesh Atri, Nikhil Jaral and Arushi bagged Silver Medals while as Shivani Sharma and Sanjeev Singh Charak got Bronze Medals. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Shabir Khan, SDPO Bakshi Nagar, while DN Pangotra, General Secretary, JKTA was the Guest of Honour. The students of the school who participated in this Championship were received in the school premises by Gaurav Charak (Principal) alongwith Anku Charak (Vice Principal), Pankaj Mehra (Coach), Jagpreet Kour (Coach), Jagdeep Singh (PTI), Akashdeep Raina (Incharge), Ajay Kumar & the staff members. On this occasion Principal of the school said that the school management is committed to promote Physical Education in school and in this regard sports infrastructure are being upgraded & enhanced in the school every year for providing platform to the students to take part in different sports activities at various levels. |
