Saahil Suhail Anantnag, Aug 27: Information sought under Right to Information Act has revealed that in South Kashmir's Bijbehara constituency, maximum share in development went to the native village of MLA and MLC. According to report, in year 2008 Social welfare department in nexus with MLA and MLC, ordered cancellation of sanctioned Aaganwadi centres of remote areas and Gujjar habitations of village Khiram, which werte then reopened in Village Veeri, which is interestingly the native village of Local MLA, Abdul Rehman Veeri and MlC Bashir Ahmad Veeri. These centers were diverted to be opened in Veeri Village evidently to benefit the females of political families in the village. Information sought under RTI Act reveals that, Aaganwari centre meant for Gujjar Basti Sangnad Khiram, was opened in New colony Veeri for accommodating a candidate namely Dilshada Akther D/o Masood-ul-Hassan Bhat, having with a political profile who was earlier dropped due to her low merit. Interestingly it seems that the centre was opened only for her appointment as she was the only applicant. RTI report reveals that department dropped many meritorious candidates on political considerations and due to corruption, they evidently appointed candidates having low merit and qualification. Similarly, in disputed cases , disputed candidates continue to withdraw wages while as the dropped meritorious candidates continue to suffer. |
