| More culprits identified, Many rioters escaped during curfew, 20 stolen weapons recovered | | Kishtwar Violence | | Asif Iqbal Naik KISHTWAR, Aug 27: Special Investigation Team constituted by the DGP Ashok Prashad on the direction of the State Government to probe into August 9 violence has identified more culprits involved in arson, and looting in violence ravaged town. Sources reveal that SIT has so far identified over four dozen culprits on the basis of various evidences collected by the investigating agency. As per the details available with "Early Times" the officials of Special Investigation Team during continuous raids have recovered at least twenty weapons stolen from Chenab Gun House Kishtwar on the day of August 9 violence. The details further added that many culprits involved behind the loot and arson after the violence has left the town fearing police action. Many among these culprits had left the town on next day of the violence when strict curfew was in place in entire Kishtwar District, beside the Kishtwar-Jammu and Kishtwar-Sinthan-Srinagar National Highway was also blocked and even media persons' entry into the District was restricted. The escaping of the main culprits from the town despite strict curfew in the area can put the security agencies under question. The sources said that police has issued lookout notice for arrest of the main culprits to various police stations of the state and added that soon the main culprits involved behind the Kishtwar violence will be behind the bars. |
