| Stubborn BOPEE fails to learn from gaffe | | No steps afoot to negate recurrence | | Avinash Azad JAMMU, Aug 27: Fraught with sharp criticism and loss of credibility, over allegations of question paper leak and silly paper goof up, in CET -2013, the Board of Professional Entrance Exam (BOPEE) has failed to devise a credible mechanism to negate recurrence of such incidents . Sources at BOPEE informed Early Times that following the leakage of CET -2013 the BOPEE has received several suggestions to avoid such things in future. "After brief argument over measures, State Government and some members of Board had suggested that Board should depute an employee during printing and packing of various question papers for exam being conducted by the Board", sources said, adding that chairman, BOPEE, Prof RD Sharma has refuted the same. They further said that for CET-2013 the Board had got papers printed outside the state by deputing its men for supervising the printing and secrecy. "As far as secrecy is concerned, the move was good, but it proved futile when the papers were leaked recently. Sources further said that the whole process of printing and packing was directly under control of BOPEE's chairman. It is pertinent to mention here that the aspirants of CET 2013 suffered the most because of the paper mix-up and alleged paper leakage and they could not perform well in the examination. Often aspirants spend huge amounts of money for coaching. Some even go outside eyeing better coaching facilities so that they can fare better the exams. But the alleged management of BOPEE has shattered the dreams of students who burned mid-night oil preparing hard for the CET. Earlier, The BOPEE has been facing sharp criticism since the Examination papers of Biology and Chemistry were cancelled due to 'leak' in few centers. |
