| CCI expresses shock over unhygienic storage of ration | | | | Jammu, Aug 27 : Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu shocked over improper and unhygienic storage of food items of mass consumption ment primarily for BPL. According to press release, the CCI said that such practices have exposed the callous attitude of the concerned agencies that have scant regards for human precious lives by endangering the same by exposing the food items to the vagaries of weather. CCI has been impressing upon the traders to store food items in most hygienic conditions and we expect the government agencies also to strictly enforce the provisions of food safety act with regard to storage and sale of food items. It is very shocking that only two of the seven godowns were opened for inspection by the Divisional Commissioner and rest of the five godowns were not opened for inspection thereby creating a strong suspicion in the minds of the general public that all is not well in those five godowns also which were primarily storing wheat and rice ment for midday meals. |
