Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 13: Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal Conference (JKGBC) today held its monthly meeting at Nowabad. According to press release, JKGBC president, Haji Mohd Yaqoob sought fulfillment of the issues which were being faced by the Gujjar Bakerwal community, Permanent settlement of Nomads Gujjar Bakerwal, political reservation, Gojri language, construction of link roads, regular supply of water and electricity to the Gujjar bastis, reservation in ReT and Anganwadi workers. They further demanded immediate relief to poor people to whom 'Kacha' houses were collapsed during recent rains and floods, particularly Gujjar bastis. They also demanded the rates of milk enhanced from Rs.35 per kg to Rs.40. They condemned the action taken by JMC against nomads dodhi Gujjars while destroying their milk and arresting the innocent people. Charag Cin Choudhary, Mulana Shah Mohd, Khadam Hussain, Haji Mohd Yousaf, Shakeel Ahmed, Shamas-ud- din Shamas and Abdul Karim who were present on the occasion. |
