| Frequent transfers scare IAS lobby, seeks Khandey's intervention | | | Jammu, Oct 12 : Top bureaucrats are contemplating making a formal representation to the chief secretary against frequent transfers. IAS lobby in particular is peeved over it and has decided to convey it to the chief secretary Iqbal Khandey. It has been after quite long time that IAS officers are being shunted repeatedly even before they complete even six month at the present posting.A number of officials were transferred in Thursday's cabinet meeting. Some of them had held office for a few days only. "How can we understand the working leave alone streamlining when we ourselves are not sure if we are going to stay here or not," said an IAS officer wishing not to be named. The frequent transfers have made IAS fraternity quite frustrated and many of them are thinking of moving on central deputation or leaving for some foreign course. "What we can do here when we are not secure about even a one year tenure, so its better to look for other options for career advanceman," said an IAS officer. |
