| Asa Ram's Jammu Ashram still remains untouched | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 12: Why are the Jammu police not acting against the Asa Ram's ashram in Jammu where the court has directed police to search the premises as allegations of burying of dead bodies have been leveled? The High Court on Friday had directed the Jammu police to search the Ashram as allegations of burying of bodies inside the premises were leveled by Bhola Nand, a former care taker of the ashram. But the Jammu police are waiting for Nand to accompany them to the ashram and show where the dead bodies were buried. This delaying tactic by police has given the ashram authorities much time to act and clear everything which could prove fatal for them. After the court directions, the police should have taken the custody of whole ashram so that no one is allowed to temper with the evidence available in the ashram. But the police has not done this and is giving time to the ashram people to act. During the day, two persons from outside J&K, who were greeted by one and all followers of Asa Ram in Jammu ashram, after reaching here this afternoon? The movement in the ashram is going unabated but the police is not taking any action against anybody. It seems that police is not complying with the orders of High Court and is giving ample time to ashram authorities to destroy each and every evidence available with them. The Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu, Atul Goel said that they will not raid the ashram till the complainant approaches them and accompanies police to the ashram for search. This is the fact that without having proper guidance, the police couldn't search the whole ashram spread in 282 kanals of land on the banks of river Tawi in Jammu. But what police should have done is to seal the ashram and didn't allow anyone to roam free as chances of destroying of evidence are high. On every step, the court can't intervene and police should know its responsibility to act as per the directions issued by the court. |
