Et Report Jammu, Oct 12: To make the auspicious occasion of Navratrey Dewan Badrinath (10+2) Vidya Mandir arranged Kanjak Pujan in the school premises at Amarvilla Talab Tillo in which students and faculty members participated with traditional religious gaiety. Devotional Song Singing Competition was also held as part of activities in which students participated in three group viz. sub junior, junior and senior. In Senior group Manpreet Kour, Rahul Luthra & Malvi claimed first three ranks respectively while in Junior group Harsh, Gourav and Keshav meantime Parmeet Singh, Shivansh and abhay Pratap were declared winners of top three ranks respectively in sub junior group. The winners were given mementoes while other participants were also given participation certificate. Gyan Chand distributed the prizes among the students others who were present on the occasion included Lila Karan Sharma, Dr Ramakant Dubey, Yash Paul Puri, Rajendra Kakkar, Suresh Sharma, Mrs Indu Puri, Mrs Neelam Sabarwal and other members of the staff. Fake drugs in state a 'concern'; Civil Society Jmu Et Report JAMMU, Oct 12: Expressing concerns over the spurious drugs supply in state, members of Civil Society Jammu, under the chairmanship of Senior Journalist and Social activist Salman Nizami today criticized the govt for its in action against the perpetrators of fake drugs in the state. Condemning the casual approach of state government, the civil society said that no action has been taken against the culprits involved in supply of fake drugs. "Unfortunately instead of punishing the culprits government is shielding them, he said. Civil Society Jammu demands immediate action against the culprits and arrest those who have been charge sheeted. Civil Society Jammu will run a sustained campaign against the fake drug supply in the state in the form of seminars, protests. Narcotic smuggler acquitted as prosecution fails to pursue Et Report JAMMU, Oct 12: Principal Sessions Judge Poonch Jaffer Hussain Beigh has acquitted one Abdul Hamied of Thanamandi Rajouri who was facing trial in NDPS case, as prosecution failed to prove the case against the accused person. Principal Sessions Judge Poonch Jaffer Hussain Beigh after hearing Public Prosecutor Ch Nayaz Ali for the state whereas Mohd Showket Amin Manhas for the accused, observed that It has also been brought to the knowledge of the Court that all the prosecution witnesses examined in the instant case are police officials and the single civil witness examined by the prosecution has not supported the prosecution at all. With these observations Court acquitted the accused Abdul Hamied S/O Abdul Rahim R/O Rajdhani Tehsil Thanamandi District Rajouri facing trial in NDPS case from the charges leveled against as prosecution failed to prove the case against the accused person. According to the police case that on April 25, 2010 Police Station Surankote during a search operation police team intercepted one person coming from Behramgalla indentified as Abdul Hamid S/O Abdul Rahim R/O Rajdhani Tehsil Thanamandi District Poonch and on search of bag in his possession sixteen packets of maize-cob-web (Khuber) containing Charas were found and seized on spot in which 900 gram of charas was recovered. A FIR No.51/2010 for offences u/Ss 8/20 NDPS was registered and challan was presented in the court of Sessions Court Poonch. |
