ealry times report Jammu, Oct 17: Continuing the tradition of paying tributes to the martyrs who laid their lives in 1966 while raising their voice against discrimination with Jammu region, National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) organized a 'Havan' on the second day of Martyrs day at Shaheedi Sthal GGM Science College, Jammu this morning.. Early in the morning NPSU activists along with supremo National Panthers Party (NPP) & NPSU, Bhim Singh and chairman NPP, NPSU and MLA Ramnagar Harsh Dev Singh paid floral tributes to the martyrs and prayed for peace to the souls of martyrs. Later, Bhim Singh, Harsh Dev Singh and Partap Singh, state president NPSU organized a 'Havan' and prayed for the peace of the departed souls. Speaking on the occasion, Bhim Singh said that Panthers Party is fighting against the discrimination with Jammu region and the party will continue its fight against the discrimination. Meanwhile, Harsh Dev Singh stated that student community is the most sufferer of the discrimination and the policies of the present government are totally against the students. Partap Singh said that policies of the then government and administration were against the Jammu region and students community and now situation is also same. National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) will fight tooth and nail to uproot the discrimination with the Jammu region and students community. Speaking on the occasion, Partap Singh also said that every year Oct. 16, 17 & 18 are observed as the Martyrs Day in Jammu as in 1966 four of the students namely Brij Mohan, Subash Chander, Gulshan Handa, Guru Charan Singh had faced brutal action of the then administration while raising their voice against the discrimination with Jammu region. Others who were present include Nitish Sharma (rural president NPSU), Sanjay Sharma (city president NPSU), Neeraj Singh, Smile Sharma, Arjun Singh, Rippu Choudhary, Shammi Jasrotia, Ansh Sharma, Ravinder Sharma, Sidhant Dogra, Sunny Kesar, Yogesh Talwar, Aditya Hans, Sahil Mustaq etc. |
