JKP's cyber cell caught napping, message sender mutual friend of DIG | CM gets life threat on FB | | Sumit Sharma Jammu, Oct 17: Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah has been threatened to life on Face book by a district Shopian resident youth , a comment which has been liked by about 35 people. The young politician who is considered to be one of the most popular Indian youth icons on the social networking sites received threatening message on October 9. Ironically, the sender is the mutual friend of a DIG, posted somewhere in Kashmir. The frequent use of social media by men in uniform further raised a question mark on the constitution of PHQ which is brazenly violated by the men in Khaki who share vital details on the social networks. Paul Ahsaan, in his message to Chief Minister on his Face book account said " U ur father, ur grand father and ur whole party is the killer of innocent Kashmiris so 'inshallah' soon u will be killed by myself, my last wish". As soon as the message was posted on the wall of CM Omar Abdullah's face book account, about 35 people liked it in one go which exposed the growing unpopularity of the state's youngest Chief Minister, his family and political party (NC). It also exposed on the other hand the inefficiency of the Intelligence Agencies including JKP's cyber cell. The message is still intact on the Face book account of CM even after nine days of its posting. The sender has introduced himself in his face book account as Paul Ahsaan, Special Educator at Visit Kashmir, Past: Paradise Kashmir, Studied at University of Kashmir, Past: Stone pelting degree college Sopian and B.P.High school M D Pora, married. The bombshell came a month after Omar spoke for tough laws on social media. Worthwhile to mention here that himself a prolific user of social media, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah nevertheless called for toughening of laws to deal with social networking sites spreading hatred. Speaking at the 16th National Integration Council (NIC) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on 16 September, Omar said there was an urgent need to make suitable amendments in the existing laws to end misuse of social sites. Omar also spoke of how a few sections of the media and some unscrupulous users of social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter often use them to spread rumors and circulation of fake videos, messages and images in a bid to hurt the sentiments of the religious communities and vitiate the peaceful atmosphere.
