GGF remembers Nirmala Deshpande on her birth anniversary

New Delhi, Oct 17: Padmashree S.P.Varma vice-president Gandhi Global Family & his close associates paid floral tributes to PadmaVibushan Dr Nirmala Deshpande in all faith prayer organized by Gandhi Global Family New Delhi Chapter at Nazafgard, New Delhi where a health camp for two days is also inaugurated by Padmashri S P Varma.
The health camp is organised by GGF Delhi Team under the leadership of Ashok Kapoor, Chairperson GGF Delhi Chapter.
Speaking on the occasions Padmashri Varma said, " Didi shall be remembered for internationalizing Gandhi-Vinoba ideology amongst the general public. Even after her death in 2008, she remains a guiding force for all of us."
While recalling his first meeting with Didi at Jammu in Kashmiri migrant camp during early 1990, he said, " We worked together on several public oriented projects on voluntary basis in these 18 years. She served the people of J&K during the turmoil period."
Padmashree Varma considered her as a true friend of humanity who initiated people to people contact between both the neighboring countries in South Asia.
She took leading role at various occasions in initiating track II diplomacy. Being a true Gandhian she was respected all over the world & particularly in South Asia.
He stressed, "People like her never die, their ideology always remain in the heart & mind of the people irrespective of their nationality, class, position & gender."
Even today her works remained inspirational in solidifying the global initiative towards humanity. He also appeals her followers to continue with the same spirit & zeal driven by Didi & to work together in harmony to spread her message around the world for strengthening peace, growth & prosperity.
Other prominent dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr Veena Behan, Ashok Kapoor, Dr Rajkumar Tyagi, Vijay Sharma, Dalip Swan, Ankush Varma, Ajay Saini & the local organiser Rakesh Kumar.
