Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 17: Controversy erupted over Damini movie before it is screened on Cineplex as the movie team leveled allegations of sexual desire by its sponsor. Owing to the dispute the title registration of the movie, has been changed from "Damini ...the victim" to "Yeh meri kahani hai...Damini " The team members also urged upon the government to make the movie Tax Free as it is based on a social issue.
In a press conference held today the Damini team said that they had an agreement with Gallon Builders India Pvt.Ltd as main sponsor of the movie. As per the agreement, they were supposed to pay them a total amount of Rs.3,50,000 in three installments, but the team received Rs. 1 lac as first installment for which they were supposed to promote Gallon Builders India Pvt.ltd in rental and non-rental hoardings, newspapers and in trailor on local channels which the team did as per the deal. They further alleged that they were to promote them on the music launch party in local as well as national media against the 2nd installment, which also they did on time.
After the music launch party of the movie, when they went to Gallon Builders India Pvt.ltd for the 2nd installment, Mohd. Anwar, owner of Gallon Builders India Pvt.ltd strictly refused to pay the said amount and asked to stop further activities. He put forth an unjustifiable demand by asking for a sexy celebrity for a night. The team rejected the demand and broke the deal with him. He felt insulted and started abusing and threatening the entire team. Scared of the threats, the team filed a report in the Sainik Colony police station but the police has not taken any action so far, they alleged ,adding as per the deal, Gallon Builders India Pvt.ltd owe them a total of Rs.2,50,000 as the balance amount. Meanwhile when contacted Police Post Sainik Colony Sumit Sharma said that he received the complaints from both side only and accordingly both the parties were booked under section 107,117 RPC.
