| Court acquits 2 of murder charges | | | Et Report Jammu, Oct 22 : Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Kartar Singh has acquitted Ashok Kumar and Behari Lal alias Bittu who were facing trial in murder case for last one year as prosecution failed. According to the case on 25.6.2012, the complainant Dhian Chand lodged an oral report in the police station in which he has stated that he was married to Sonu Devi D/O Ashok Kumar about seven year back and on the said date at about 9 PM he had gone to the house of in -laws. His father -in-law did not return home and they started searching him but he could not be traced. While searching when they reached Dablehar Salehar road, they found that his father in-law was lying there in an injured condition and somebody had committed his murder. On this oral report FIR No.107/2012 was registered in the police. After completion of investigation challan was presented in the court of law. Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Kartar Singh after hearing both the sides observed that the case was fixed for recording the statements of the accused persons under the provisions of Section 342 Cr.P.C, but there is no incrimination evidence which is required to be explained by them. Family members of the deceased including his wife, daughters and son have not supported the prosecution story and have categorically stated that their father was habitual drunkard. They have no knowledge as to how he had died. There is not even iota of incriminating evidence against the accused who are therefore, acquitted of the charges framed against them. (JNF) |
