ANANTNAG, Oct 22: Contradicting his earlier statement, State Congress Chief Saif-u-Din Soz who had before days claimed that Congress will form next government in the state, today left all the possibilities and probabilities with the Almighty, however, said that Congress will emerge as a single largest political party in 2014.
Talking to media on the sidelines of a workers meet at Mattan in Anantnag, Soz said, "I have never said that Congress will form government in state but I have said that Congress will emerge as a single largest political party in the state that is evident with the fact that Congress managed to win the Ladakh Hill Development Council elections and now in Kashmir more and more people are joining us."
Replying to question regarding the extension of bureaucrats, Saif-u-Din Soz termed it illegal and said, "Extension to retried officers is totally illegal. But the government is trying to please handful officers which is totally injustice with unemployed youths," adding he will take up the issue with his own Cabinet Ministers so that they can put up it with Chief Minister in the cabinet.
Backing agitating employees age extension demand, he said that they (Congress) will mount pressure on the government so that the demand of employees gets fulfilled, however, said that the agitation by the employees is intolerable.
Earlier, addressing workers convention, he stressed upon workers to get united and work hard for the upcoming elections. Soz again repeated its commitment of empowering panchayat representatives by the 73rd amendment and said that he will not leave any stone unturned for empowering the women folk also by reservations.
Soz was accompanied by Tourism Minister Gulam Ahmad Mir, Sham Lal Sharma and other leaders including district general secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah. Meanwhile, Prof. Saif-u-Din Soz addressed another workers convention in Redwani in Kulgam area.
