Et Report Jammu, Oct 22: Sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested an Assistant Director of Handicrafts of Ministry of Textiles, Union government for allegedly demanding and accepting money during a raid at Khalsa Chowk, Nanak Nagar. According to police sources, following a complaint the CBI immediately took cognizance and laid K K Sharma, Assistant Director of Handicrafts, caught red handed with the graft of Rs 75000 for some official works. "A trap was laid accordingly and the Assistant Director Handicrafts was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 75 000 from complainant as the tainted money infront of independent witnesses was also recovered from his possession when he was meeting with complainant at Khalsa Chowk Nanaknagar here today, sources said. Sources said that the said officer is in custody of CBI and has been put under sustained questioning. |
