Jammu, Oct 22: Concerned over increasing number of ceasefire violations at the international border, scores of social activists, members of NGO's, Academicians, Legal Experts, Senior Citizens and Peace Activists of Jammu region have called for peaceful borders between India and Pakistan. In a joint press note, these activists have stated that the people want peaceful borders between India and Pakistan but at present the situation is worrisome with the growing incidents of ceasefire violation at the International border and injuries caused to the civilians at different places in Jammu alongside the International Border due to unprovoked firing from Pakistan side. The activists have asked Pakistan to restrain and do not make any such attempt which is against the human lives on both sides of the border. They have said that the vitiated atmosphere at borders would compel people across the border to take shelter at safer places which would obviously cause a spade of human migration. "There is no alternative to peace therefore being major stakeholders in South East Asia and neighbours both India and Pakistan must ensure that Peace remain a permanent deal and pursuit between them so that the innocent civilian population of both the countries have peaceful environment" , the activists submitted.
