| DF, SS stage protest against alleged 'adulterated' milk at higher rates | | | Jammu, Oct 22: Workers of Dogra Front (DF) and Shiv Sena (SS) led by President Ashok Gupta took out a procession against the recent enhancement of the prices of milk by 25% as the milk men still are supplying the sub standard quality of milk. Holding pot filled with alleged adulterated milk amid sloganeering, the workers of DF and SS marched through the entire Jammu city as the protest concluded at the JMC Office, where the agitating protestors staged a dharna outside the office of Health Officer Jammu. Following the protest, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Kiran Wattal came to the spot and pacified the protestors while announcing some amendments to check milk. JMC Commissioner informed that Jammu city would be divided in four zones of East, West, North, South where the teams of health department JMC would be deployed as the entry gate to test the samples of milk from gujjars and after the approval of the quality a OK stamp would be marked on the milk gallon as the mark of standard. He also said that every shopkeeper have to install a machine to check the quality of milk and every costumer would be granted a right to use the machine before the purchase of curd or milk. During their discussion with the JMC commissioner and Health Officer JMC, Jammu, Ashok Gupta stated that all the adulterated the 'Khoya' should be seized and licenses of erring dealer should be cancelled. The president DF and SS said if the adulteration of the dairy products does not stops the workers of DF and SS will take action against the culprits on there own.
