Jammu, Oct 22 : Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation observed a lunch time demonstration todayat Shalimar Chowk Jammu against the negative attitude of Indian Bank's Association with regard to the wage revision/10th Bipartite Settlement of Bank employees which is already due since Nov' 2012.
The Indian Bank Association has not been showing any seriousness in resolving the wage revision of bankers and adopting a dilly dallying attitude towards the genuine demands of the bank employees, as such United Forum of Bank employees decided to exhibit its dissatisfaction by holding today's demonstration at all the state capital and major centers of the country.
The demonstration at the Shalimar chowk today was attended by representatives from all Nationalized and non Nationalized Banks of the province. The demonstration was addressed by Com. Arun Kumar Gupta, general secretary, Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation, who apprised the gathering about the tardy progress in wage revision of the employees.
Com. Arun kumar Gupta informed that the IBA is not forth coming with their response on the wage load to the industry, hence there seems to be an attempt on the part of IBA to unnecessarily prolong the issue. The Federation also lodged its protests at the RBI's Governor statement issued at Washington whereby he has pleaded for allowing Foreign Banks to enter Indian Market in a big way. This will eventually mean takeover of Indian banks by Foreign Banks. In this connection AIBEA and UFBU has already lodged their protests with the Government.
