NMC demands early release of 10% DA

Jammu , Oct 22: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today demanded an early release of 10% DA due from July last in favour of State Govt. employees and pensioners in cash as a good will gesture adding that salaried class and pensioners were facing lot of economic hardship due to high inflation and price hike and release of said installment will be genuine measure to provide some financial relief to them. Addressing a meeting of NMC activists here, Shastri urged upon the Chief Minister, Finance Minister and Chief Secretary to take steps in this regard during the next cabinet meeting as the same installment had already been released by the Central as well as several State Governments to their employees and pensioners since long.
Delay in release of would not only put financial burden on the State government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners, he added.
He added that the prices of all essential commodities are going up considerably and there was no justification on the part of the government for withholding this installment for their employees and pensioners as the funds had already been earmarked in the current year state budget.
Referring to the genuine demands of salaried class Shastri also demanded for immediate sanction of 20% interim relief, merger of 50%DA into basic pay/pension adding that DA already touching the mark of 90% basic pay/pension and merger had become due When DA crossed more than 50%.
Enhancement in medical allowance to rupee on thousand per month, regularization of the services of all daily wagers who have completed seven years of services up to March 31, 2013, early amendment in SRO 64, removal of all pay anomalies in SRO 93 Particularly clerical staff and the wages of daily wagers should be raised ten thousand per month were these demands highlighted in the meeting.
