Early Times Report Kishtwar, Oct 22: Former Congress Youth President Drabshallah block and Sarpanch Tatani Akhtar Hussain, expressed anguish over GVK limited for non starter of work on Rattle power project Drabshallah. Akhtar said that state government has awarded the 850 MW Rattle Hydroelectric Power (HEP) Project to one Hyderabad based company M/s G.V.K. Energy Limited on Build, own to operate Built, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis for a period of 35 years, at an estimated cost of Rs 3,805 crores. He said company has however, failed to start the execution of the said project for which the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh along with UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi during their recent visit in June to Kishtwar laid the foundation stone. It is a matter of great concern that the executing agency has appointed persons from outside the State at the cost of the deserving unemployed youths of the district. "I would like to draw the kind attention of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori towards the long delay in starting the execution of Rattle Hydroelectric Project, Drabshalla (Kishtwar)", he said. |
