| KPs demand allotment of residential quarters to non-camp displaced families | | | early times report Jammu, Oct 22: All displaced Kashmiri Pundit United Forum under the chairmanship of DN Kissu convened a meeting of the members of the Forum to discuss the pressing problems faced by the displaced community under the present trying times. It was decided to press the Government agencies to mitigate the sufferings faced by the Community. The continuous cultural aggression and the acts of blasphemy by the miscreants and burning of the religious places like Maha Ganesh Asthapan and temple at Mohalla Kherman Nand Ram at Handwara was condemned in strong words by the members of the forum. The members of the forum resolved to alert the administration of the consequences that it may have to face if it continued to protect the miscreants responsible for the blasphemy and brush the demands of the displaced ones under the carpet. Serious note was taken by the members for the delay in the allotment of residential quarters to the non-camp displaced families and it was pressed on the relief commissioner to process the pending cases in the right earnest. It was demanded that the voter lists pertaining to the displaced community be displayed at different wards at Jammu and Delhi and make arrangements for its correction. The online facility be upgraded such that the corrections and the display is conveniently accessed by the displaced at their temporary residences. The demand for medical Insurance and the opening of dispensaries at the temporary settlements has been put forth by the forum the need of which is of utmost importance keeping in view the spiraling medical costs.. The Government is asked to pass the temple and shrine bill without classifying the ownerships of the temples. The bill should cover all the temples and shrines in Kashmir that belong to the Kashmiri pundits.
