Among affected Naresh Kumar resident of village Chack Changa located at zero line Indo-Pak International Border (IB), Hiranagar, lamented that the people of the border area were awaiting for this visit to apprise Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde since morning but the happening turned a surprise as all aspirations and plight remained unheard and unnoticed courtesy absence of the union minister as his visit remained confined to Police Station Hiranagar only which witnessed terror attack on September 26. "With cut in schedule in Union Home Ministers' visit left border populace virtually harassed which remained unheard and again left to face the brutality of Pakistan for long yet its problems are not resolved. Ghansham Sharma termed the visit of Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar is a futile service of the UPA government which has been exposed widely when Mr. Shinde failed to extend its visit from Hiranagar Police Station to border areas of Hiranagar where the lakhs of people have been living under heavy shelling and firings by Pakistan since long. "The life at border has become so difficult as we are living under the mental stress due to prevailing of insecurity after heavy firings and shelling but it is sad that Union Minister failed to sneak time for them who have lost entire agriculture property near with Indo-Pak border at zero line, he said adding, "people have anchored hopes on Shinde's visit but all hopes dashed to grounds when he returned back from Hiranagar Police Station.' Humming similar tunes another farmer Dayal Dass lamented that several hectares of my land was lying at zero line along with the Indo-Pak border fencing at Changa Chack but no compensation has been paid to me till date. He said, " being a farmer the land is only the source our livelihood but the rest land has too become meaningless because of frequent firing from Pakistan which resultantly forced us to live on peanuts and even to migrate from our home land. Dass also resented that the Union Home Minister's return from half of the way has left an impression that border people should go on facing bullets and mortars as Union Government is not bothered to them and to give befitting reply to the Pakistan. |
