| Meet held to enforce ban on use of polythene carry bags | | |

Samba, Nov 5: DDC Samba R K Varma today convened a meeting regarding enforcing ban on the use of polythene carry bags in which he directed the district police authorities and traffic police authorities to speed up the checking of the vehicles entering the four towns of the Samba Dist.viz. Samba, Vijaypur, Ramgarh and Bari Brahmana. DDC also directed the executive officers of the municipal committees to regularly check the markets and ensure that polythene carry bags would not be used. Similarly tehsildars were also directed to enforce the provision of law regarding the ban on the use of polythene carry bags. All the agencies were directed to submit their report by the 5th of every succeeding month so that the compliance report/status is filed in the High Court in PIL no. OWPNO159/2002.
Among others AC(R) Samba, M.Y Malik, DySP Traffic, naib tehsildars and executive officers of the municipal committees were also present in the meeting. |
