| GS involved in SBI loan scam, criminal activities | | Setback to JKPYC | | Sumit Sharma
Jammu, Nov 5: The Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress, a wing of Indian National Congress, constituted to clean the image of Congress and to reach the grass root level, received a setback in Jammu and Kashmir State when various scams and criminal activities against its General Secretary surfaced.
Abid Imtiyaz Bhat alias Abid Kashmiri, who was appointed as General Secretary of PYC in Jammu and Kashmir state is involved in number of criminal activities besides a SBI loan scam in which he prepared and submitted forged document to the bank to avail the loan facilities.
The complaints in this connection have been filed to the Congress Party High Command in Delhi. A complaint of land fraud was also filed before then Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla who ordered probe.
Bhalla ordered probe when he received complaints from residents of Sempora in which it was alleged that Abid has managed heavy loans from various branches of SBI bank against fraud revenue mortgaged papers.
He, with the connivance of the revenue officials prepared forged documents of the land which is not in his possession.
The SBI bank land scam came to limelight when SBI bank's General Manager branch Residency Road, Srinagar wrote to the Tehsildar concerned to verify the revenue documents submitted to bank , stating that one Abid Imtiyaz Bhat son of Imtiyaz Ahmed Bhat of Sempora,Pantha Chowk mortgaged his residential house along with 8 marlas of land under survey no 70 min, Khewat no 125 situated at Sempora Pantha Chowk.
However, in reply, the revenue authorities informed bank manager that such land is not in record with the Revenue Department.
Coming on another scam, Abid landed in Crime Brach net when he presented himself as a Kashmiri migrant before the court of Sub Registrar, Budgam with fraud revenue documents. The PYC Secretary is also credited of FIR in Pantha Chowk Police Station for theft of car and Rs 75000 cash. On his criminal record, his father denounced him from his property.
Such type of complaints have been filed by the residents of the Sempora,Pantha Chowk to the Congress stalwarts in the state for action against PYC Secretary.They also demanded withdrawing of PSO attached to Abid as he uses to harass the people.
Further then DC Srinagar Baseer Ahmed Khan as per order no DES/PS-Comp/12/2107-10, wrote to Superintendent of Police, City West, Srinagar for FIR against Abid. "A complaint has been preferred by One Ab Rashid Wani and other residents of Sempora, Pantha chowk against one Abid Imtiyaz Bhat of Sempora who as per the contents of complaint is an imposter and habitual of visiting different offices and gave false assurance to the public that he can manage job to them. Also it has been learned that he in connivance with revenue officials is raising loan for land which he is not possessing. The copy of complaint along with number of papers to provide better insight in the matter is enclosed. You are directed to immediately enquire the matter confidentially and if based on the facts arrest him forthwith". |
