| Kamaal not misquoted but spoke his heart out: Tariq Hamid Qarra | | Omar changes statements like clothes | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 5: Accusing National Conference for thriving on flip-flop politics, People’s Democratic Party senior leader Tariq Hamid Qarra today alleged that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah changes his statements like clothes. "It is absurd that Chief Minister term the accession of Kashmir with India conditional on one day while the next day he describes the accession final. His statements are confusing which amply makes it clear that NC believes in double-speak," Qarra told a local news agency adding that it is the history of NC to thrive on flip-flop politics. Former Finance Minister said that people of Kashmir are laughing at Omar Abdullah and they are surprised the way Omar is changing his tone over accession philosophy. "In Kashmir Omar claims that accession is conditional while at Jammu he follows appeasement policy and describes accession as final," he said. He said that NC follows exploitative policy in Kashmir while at Jammu it adopts appeasement policy. "It is this party which has created dissent here and sowed the seeds of separatism in Kashmir. From 1947 to 1953, this party after facilitating accession, propagated hatred against Pakistan and from 1953 to 75 raised flag against India. People in both cases supported this party but at the end of the day this party stabbed at the back of the people and left them in the lurch," he said. Tariq Hamid Qarra said that this party could go to any extent to grab the power. "NC gives an impression to New Delhi that it is this party which is ensuring integration of Kashmir. The leaders of this party even gives an impression to Centre that it could go beyond Hurriyat Conference if they are being detached with power and for this purpose it has fielded Mustafa Kamaal who issues confusing statements to mount pressure on New Delhi," he said. "NC believes in pressure tactics. This job is now entrusted to Mustafa Kamaal as Party General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmed is ailing," he said. He said that Mustafa Kamal had spoken his heart out by claiming NC will support Narendra Modi if he becomes the Prime Minister of India. "To claim now that he was misquoted is absolutely wrong. The truth is that Kamal was not misquoted but he succumbed to the pressure from the party," Qarra said adding that nobody can deny this fact that NC patron Dr Farooq Abdullah a year ago shared the dais with Narinder Modi wherein he claimed that, "he could see God in the eyes of Modi." He further said that NC has no conviction but it believes in convenience. "It will jump in anyone's lap if it feels convenient," he said. |
