Jammu , Nov 5: In order to promote Energy Conservation in the country, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under Ministry of Power, (Government of India), has launched a nationwide campaign by inviting all the school children from 4th standard to 9th standard to participate painting competition at different levels. Of 1.5 lakh paintings painted by school children at school level contest, 100 works have been selected for the next round i.e. state level. According to spokesperson the painting competitions across the state of Jammu and Kashmir were entrusted to NHPC Limited for selecting best 100 paintings in each category of Class 4th, 5th & 6th in category-A and 7th,8th & 9th in category–B in which 1.5 Lakh students participated in the school level competition across the State of J&K. The nodal agency NHPC Limited, Regional Office, Jammu entrusted with the smooth functioning of contest has selected 100 paintings out of paintings received from various schools of J&K State during the School Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation-2013. “The paintings were selected by a Jury comprising Ekramul Haque, Chief (HR), NHPC Limited, Nodal Officer Painting Competition for J&K State, H.R.Pakhroo, Joint Director,Trainings, State Institute of Education, Jammu, Subhash Anand, Renowned Cartoonist, Rohit Verma, Institute of Fine Arts College, Jammu, Akram Khan, Artist, Milian Sharma, Deptt. of Fine Arts, Jammu University and Parveen Singh and JK Fine Arts Society of Jammu, he added. NHPC was entrusted with the responsibility of organizing School and State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation by BEE under Ministry of Power. These Painting Competitions are part of National Awareness Campaign launched by Ministry of Power, Government of India for promoting Energy conservation in the country and selected students shall participate in the State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation-2013 on Nov 12 at General Zorawar Singh, Auditorium, University of Jammu. |
