Jammu, Nov 26: Police on in a late hours raid at Janipur area busted a gambling den with the arrest 19 persons on spot besides recovery stake money upto Rs 3,85000/- and playing cards from the spot.
According to police sources the raid was conducted by Janipur Police under the supervision of SP North Yougal Manhas after developing a tip off from reliable source that the gambling is in progress at the residence of one Balwant Kumar. Acting swiftly, police raided the gambling den and arrested 19 gamblers who have been have been identified namely as Ravinder Kumar, son of Surjit Singh of Janipur, Rinku Kumar, son of Bansi Lal of Prem Nagar, Gagan Sharma, son of Surinder Sharma of Janipur, Mohit Koul, son of Chaman Lal of Bantalab, Rakesh Kumar, son of Vinod Kumar of Janipur Colony, Sanjay Kumar, son of Janki Nath of Jagti Nagrota, Akhter Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Janipur, Ranjan Bhan, son of Ramesh Kumar of Paloura, Surinder Singh, son of Khar Singh of Roop Nagar, Rakesh kumar, son of Shanti Kumar of Moti Bazaar, Manik Mahajan, son of Sunil Gupta of Sarwal, Sunil Sodi, son of Mohinder Sodi of Janipur, Mahesh Dogra, son of Diwan Chand of Janipur, Ankush Sharma, son of Kuldeep Sharma of Sarwal, Rajinder Kumar, son of Baldev Raj of Prem Nagar, Daleep Kumar, son of Bishan Dass of Tali Morh, Suman Singh, son of Suraj Singh of Janipur and Nafes Haider, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Poonch.
"During the raid police team also recovered Rs 3,85,000/- stake money and playing cards from the spot, police said. "A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered at Janipur Police Station and investigation started, police said. |
