JAMMU, Nov 27: The Chief Enforcement Officers along with field staff of Enforcement Wing undertook an extensive anti-encroachment drive in various areas of Jammu City viz Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Jewel Chowk and Bikram Chowk. The drive was conducted to clear the footpaths / pavements from the encroachments made by the shopkeepers / vendors by keeping goods / articles thereby causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also obstructing the free flow of vehicular traffic.During the drive, two truckloads of material like twelve reharies, wooden moulding, seat cover, crate, etc. were seized which were placed upon footpaths / pavements by the shopkeepers / vendors in these areas. JMC appeals to the shopkeepers to keep their goods within their premises without breaching the building line to avoid seizure of their articles and penalty for such defaults. |
