HC asks Govt to take stand on ReT posts in backward areas

Srinagar, Nov 27 : A Division Bench of High Court has asked state government to take a stand regarding filling of Rehbar-e-Taleem posts in socially and educationally backward areas and areas near Line of Actual Control. Hearing a petition filed by one Shaheeda Shafi of Budgam, the DB comprising Justics M H Attar and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey asked the government to clarify whether the ReT posts are to be filled up from amongst those eligible candidates, who can produce Reserved Backward Area certificates before the Competent Authority, who issues the advertisement notification for filling up of such posts in such areas. The court issued notice to S A Naik, AGG for his appearance on behalf of respondents official respondents and listed the case again on 28 November. The respondents in the case include State through Commissioner Secretary, Education Department, Director School Education, Chief Education Officer Budgam, Zonal Education Officer, Budgam. Tehsildar Budgam while Tasleema Akhter of Jawalapora is private respondent in the case.
