Udhampur, Nov 28: A blood donation camp was organized by the Command Hospital (NC) under the aegis of HQ Northern Command today. The camp was inaugurated by Lt Gen Sanjiv Chachra, AVSM, VSM, GOC-in-C, Northern Command in a glittering inaugural function held at the North Star Clinic at Udhampur. Speaking on the occasion Col Nikhil Moorchung, HOD Pathology of Command Hospital, Udhampur spoke on the advantages of blood donation. He emphasized that one unit of 350 ml of liquid red gold, as it is called with component separation can save as many as four lives. More than 50 donors including Lt Gen Sanjiv Chachra, AVSM, VSM, GOC-in-C, Northern Command, Lt Gen HJS Sachdev, SM, Chief of Staff, HQ Northern Command, Maj Gen PP Verma, SM, VSM, MG (Med) HQ Northern Command, Maj Gen Bipin Puri, Commandant Command Hospital (NC) and other senior military dignitaries donated blood on this momentous occasion. |
