| J&K to purchase residents flats for Babus in New Delhi | | | Syed Junaid Hashmi JAMMU, Nov 28: Already stung by financial crunch, Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to purchase six residential flats in New Delhi for residential accommodation of IAS officers serving in J&K. A high level committee has been constituted to decide upon modalities of purchase. Headed by Chief Secretary, the committee includes Administrative Secretaries of six departments. They are Planning and Development Department, Hospitality and Protocol Department, Finance Department, General Administration Department, Law department alongwith Principal Resident Commissioner (PRC) New Delhi. This order no. 1610-GAD of 2013 dated 27-11-2013 has been issued by General Administration Department (GAD) in consonance with Cabinet Decision No. 175/24/2013 dated 16-08-2013, and UO No.HP/TA/26/2011 dated 12-11-201 3 from the Hospitality and Protocol Department. Committee has been authorised to finalize the allotment of the earmarked residential accommodations within a transparent and duly notified framework to be approved by Chief Minister. Committee has been told to adopt specific guidelines for allotment of accommodation. They have been told that out of the six residential units, four shall be reserved for All India Service (AIS) officers and the allotment of remaining two shall be made to other officers of state, in exceptional circumstances for medical or educational purposes. Allotment shall be made to officers who have completed the period of cooling-off, whom the State Government would like to retain in the service/the affairs of the state and whose dependents (spouse/children) are required to remain in Delhi either on health or education grounds. Officers shall be liable to pay the same license fee as is applicable to AIS Officers for accommodation allotted to them by the Central Government in New Delhi while they are on Central deputation. Allotment shall be terminated as and when the officer proceeds on central deputation. |
