ANANTNAG, Nov 28: Besides State High Court ban on constructions in South Kashmir's Pahalgam area, illegal constructions continue as Phalgam Development Authority (PDA) continue to obey the dikats from ruling party, top bureaucrats. Top sources revealed that CEO PDA, Riyaz Ahmad is providing every kind of support to violators for transporting construction material like bricks, timber, iron and cement. They said that other several officers inside Pahalgam development authority including Khilafwarzi Officer Fayaz Ahmad allegedly also continue to provide logistic support to violators and shield them if any other concerned department tries to initiate action against the violators. "During the evening hours violators backed by top politicians, bureaucrats carry construction material." Sources told ET.
They said that police on 27th of this month seized timber at the check post, however police station remained tight lipped over the issue when contacted. An official whishing not be named said that illegal interior constructions continue to take place in various hotels at tourist resort Pahalgam despite High Court ban only because of the political and bureaucratic pressure. He said it is not possible for the current CEO to take action against the violators as his posting is too politically motivated. Local Sources said that every day in evening hours hoteliers dump constructional material and carry out constructions illegally without any hesitation. Repeated attempts failed to contact CEO Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA).
