Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 28: The National Conference has once again felt the need to woo the people of Jammu. A roaster has been prepared and the Ministers and office bearers have been accordingly directed to listen to the problems of the people in the Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan. The practice was started early this year and the provincial president for the region, Davender Singh Rana and others would listen to the people. However, most of the problems highlighted during such interactions remained unaddressed. Then came the annual darbaar move and the NC left the people in the lurch. But, the practice has been revived now as part of vote bank politics. According to the roaster, Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather will meet the people on December 2, Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra on 9th December, Minister for Social Welfare Sakina Itoo on 6th January 2014, Minister of State (IC) Science & Technology and Information Technology, Feroz Ahmed Khan on 13th January, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar on 20th January, Minister for Higher Education Mohammad Akbar Lone on 27th January, Minister for CAPD and Transport Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan on 3rd February, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Saifullah on 10th February, Minister of State (IC) Animal & Sheep Husbandry Nazir Ahmed Khan (Gurezi) on 17th February and Minister for Forests, Environment & Ecology Main Altaf Ahmad on 24th February. However, Advisor to Chief Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon will be meeting the people on every Thursday between 10 am to 1 pm. But the problems that the NC leaders especially Ali Mohammad Sagar will have to give more time to Srinagar especially if the Assembly elections are held along with the Parliamentary elections due early next year. Political circles believe that NC will not have a cake walk in the 2014 elections. The PDP leader, Khurshid Aalam is working hard and can dislodge even Sagar from his strong bastion-Khanyar. Sagar will have to do some work for Omar's uncle, Dr Mustafa Kamaal who is on a slippery wicket in Hazratbal constituency. Similarly senior leaders have to remain present in their respective constituencies. The Chief Minister's roaster, therefore, is likely to fail. |
