Jammu, Nov 27: Jammu State Morcha in its meeting held under the chairmanship of its president Virender Gupta strongly endorsed the demand of artists of starting a separate and independent Duggar Channel on the pattern of DD Kashir Channel made before the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Munish Tewari.
The deputation was led by Gulchain Singh Charak. This a long pending demand of the people of Jammu region. Dugger Pradesh that comprises of Jammu province is a land of multiple languages and cultures.
The various languages spoken in the region are Gojri , Pathwari, Badherwahi, Kishtwari, Punjabi and Mirpuri.These languages and the variety of cultures existing in Jammu region do not find proper place and get justice in the Kashir Channel.
The Dugger channel shall not only cover the area of Jammu province, but it shall also cover some parts of valley and adjoining Pakistan occupied part of Jammu and Kashmir State.
The channel if started shall go a long way in establishing cultural links with the people of POJK and of the Punjabi speaking part of Pakistan adjoining Jammu province. Further, the culture and languages of Jammu province shall flourish and enrich the national multi cultural society that the India has. |
