Jammu, Nov 28: The Barasingha Battalion, under the aegis of Krishna Ghati Brigade organized an Inter School Debate Competition at Govt Middle School, Tain in Poonch, today, under the ongoing Operation Sadbhavana.
The aim of the competition was to give an ample opportunity for the school children for expressing their views and able them to understand the importance of youth in nation building and also to generate interest and competitive spirit among children about the day to day development in the modern world. The competition was organized in two categories, 5th& 6th class and 7th & 8th class. Five schools participated in the competition and four students participated from each school. Six students were awarded prizes for standing 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each category. In addition trophy for the schools standing overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd will also be awarded during Nangi Tekri Day being celebrated on 11 Dec 2013 at Balnoi Base by the Krishna Ghati Brigade.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of Govt Middle School, Tain stated that these types of competitive activities for the children of border areas would surely enlighten them and help their imagination and power of expression to blossom. |
