Jammu, Nov 28: Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, on Thursday laid the foundation stone of Examination Block at the Old Campus of the University of Jammu. With a built up area of over 27800 Sft of all floors, this four storied building would be constructed within a period of 18 months. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 5 Crore. The building will have eight halls so that 700 students can appear in examination at a time. The provision for lifts has also been kept for specially disabled students. Speaking after laying the foundation stone, the Vice Chancellor said that with the construction of the building at the old campus, the space constraint being faced by the University for conducting of examinations can be streamlined to a large. Among others present on the occasion were Prof. Manoj K Dhar, Registrar, Prof. Keshav Sharma, Controller of Examinations, Prof. V. D. Singh, Director DDE, Prof. Dipankar Sen Gupta, Jai Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor, R. K. Jaffarani, Xen, Dr. Jitender Khajuria, Joint Registrar, and other officers of the University were also present on the occasion. |
