Jammu, Nov 28 : The Traffic department of the state, which is shows concern in the city is however ignoring the outskirts and rural belt of the winter capital of the state. There is no check on traffic violation in the outskirts of the Jammu city. Matadors, Auto continue to overload passengers, which are inviting accidents. The traffic police might be showing extra vigil towards the traffic violators, but the rural belts are being ignored by the department. There is neither any check on the overloading in Matadors (Mini Buses), Buses and autos, nor on bikers without helmet or cars without seatbelt, which is inviting accidents. "We hardly find any traffic cop here in our village, there is no check on violation of traffic rules, especially overloading in Matadors and buses, they are always overloaded upto the roof of the vehicle," said Arun Sharma, from Village Marh. Some villagers have also informed that local police occasionally checks the violation on check posts, but they too leaves the violator after getting a small amount of bribe. Saurabh Sharma of Ramnagar said, "Whenever some accident took place in rural area, the main reason behind the accident was overloading, but the authorities do not take any strict action against overloading." Ravi kant Sharma, Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic (Rural) said, "However I have taken charge just a week ago, but we are doing our best to check this kind violation." "It is true that violation are more in rural belts but we are on the job to make proper mechanism to control this kind of violations," he added. |
