Sports suffer as security forces seal MA Stadium
Entire Sports Council administration on leave

JAMMU, Nov 28: Taking everything in their control, the security forces today sealed the entire MA Stadium complex asking the staff operating through different offices within the complex to keep shut for next three days.
There was no sports activity at the various coaching centers in view of security forces taking full control of the stadium this afternoon to prepare for the rally of the Prime Ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister, Narinder Modi.
As per the reliable sources, a decision to seal the stadium in advance taken after the visit of the Director General of Police (DGP) of J&K Police, Ashok Parsad at the venue of the proposed rally.
Important to mention here that the MA Stadium, the only advance coaching center for sports in the Winter Capital has become a place for holding political and religious function at the cost of budding sportspersons.
Making a meek surrender, the entire administration of the State Sports Council, the custodian of the MA Stadium, have either went on leave or moved to the Summer Capital in advance leaving the entire Jammu Division virtually headless.
Secretary Sports Council, Dilip Thusu was camping at Kashmir along with Sports Minister, who is presently in the Summer Capital for the last one week.
Second in command, incharge Administrative Officer and Chief Accounts Officer too has gone on leave what to talk of Sports Officer (Jammu), who presently takes boxing coaching camp for Srinagar boys.
Sports Officer (Rural), Ravi Singh, who holds the charge of three districts besides his actual duties of Manager MA Stadium and important Indoor Complex, has also taken leave to attend family function.
The Chief Sports Officer, who was suppose to move with the Civil Secretariat, prefers to stay back in Srinagar thus leaving the entire sports set-up in Jammu Division at the mercy of God.
Meanwhile, when contacted only officer available in Summer Capital, honorary Joint Secretary, Siddharth Sharma was little aware of the status of Chief Accounts Officer of the Sports Council. On being asked about the sealing of the entire MA Stadium by the security forces, he said, "We have been asked to keep the offices closed for next three days".
