SRINAGAR, Dec 17: J&K Private Schools United Front (JKPSUF) has proposed a private-public partnership with government to rescue the sinking ship of state Education Department. The statement came after government schools in Kashmir put another dismal show in class 10th results. "This has become a routine now, government schools put in a flop show for no fault of poor students," said G N Var, General Secretary JKPSUF. "This is a big tragedy that atleast 41 government schools have zero pass percentage. 14000 students have failed, majority of them being from government schools." The Front said that the private schools have done exemplary in the overall results. "Our schools have bagged almost all the top positions, whereas government schools have been struggling to get pass marks," said Var. "This is despite the fact that private schools run on much lower budgets." The Front said that most of the children studying in government school belong to poor families and the poor have to suffer here too. "The government is highly anti-poor in education sector," said Var. "We want to ask the government where these poor children should go?" The Front said that with the proposed partnership we can accommodate majority of government school students. "These poor students too have right to quality education and we are ready to help in it," said Var. |
