| Pre-poll alliance for Assembly elections: NC utilizing services of two Congress Ministers to convince high command | | Instead of pursuing Cong agenda, Ministers following NC agenda | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 17: Even as majority of the Congress leaders are strongly opposing pre-poll alliance with any party in the coming Assembly elections, two party Ministers have been working overtime to convince the high command to enter into alliance with coalition partner National Conference for Assembly polls. These two Ministers have been deputed by the National Conference leadership to work on their behalf and try to convince the high command alliance is in the interests of both the parties. One of the Congress Ministers belong to Jammu province while as another belong to the Kashmir valley but they are working as agents of National Conference just to protect their own personal political interest. Highly placed sources said that besides directly approaching Congress high command to enter into pre-poll alliance for Assembly elections, National Conference leadership is also utilizing services of some Congress Ministers also to accomplish its agenda. These two Congress Ministers have reason to support pre-poll alliance with National Conference because they are convinced that with the help of National Conference it will be easy for them to win Assembly elections. Furthermore, they will again get Ministerial berths in case of coalition Government for their own interests these two Ministers have been trying to "mislead" the high command regarding future of the party in case of alliance. One of the Congress Ministers who is propagating for alliance with National Conference has already been following agenda of the coalition partner. Instead of following policies and programmes of Congress party this Minister is virtually working on the agenda of its coalition partners to keep National Conference leadership in good humour. |
