| Mehbooba's 4 day visit to border districts gives fillip to spree of candidate | | PDP in pro active mode for LS polls : Massive rally on Dec 20 | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 17: With rest of political parties which are in reckoning for Lok Sabha polls keeping their cards close to chest or still undecided with respect to contesting candidates, main opposition People’s Democratic Party continues its activities with an unabated spree in both the regions of the state. For Jammu seats both the candidates have since begun their hectic schedule of activities in the areas that hold key to success in wooing the masses much ahead of other parties. Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency where vetarn leader Yash Pal Sharma is already in pro active mode, got further boost and momentum with party president, Mehbooba Mufti's visit to Rajouri and Poonch districts beginning today. Party sources said Mehbooba is on four day tour of the region during which she would address series of public meetings. PDP chief will address a big rally organised by party in Laam area of Nowshera constituency on December 20. Demonstrating a well devised strategy and planning to gear up for Lok Sabha polls much ahead of rivals, PDP high command is well serving its own interests with serious business but at the same time is also making the opponents nervous given the spree and speed with which the leadership is covering almost entire Jammu region. Both the patron of the party Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and president Mehbooba Mufti are following a hectic schedule of visit and tour of various areas along with the candidates where they would address a series of public meetings. After announcement of candidate for Jammu -Poonch constituency , Mehbooba today made first visit to Rajouri district where she addressed a well attended meeting at Kalakote. While party's stalwart Yash Pal Sharma who has considerable hold and influence in this entire belt is active with a series of such meetings already convened with desired response in many areas, Mehbooba Mufti's visit is expected to give fillip to such activities with participation of regional level functionaries and leaders. Party's candidate for Udhampur- Doda Arshad Malik has been on active mode in holding series of meetings in Kathua region. Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed too addressed a couple of meetings in the constituency which has emboldened the spirit and enthused the contesting candidate. In Kashmir region party's senior leader and candidate for Srinagar-Budgam LS constituency Tariq Hamid Karra too has sent the opponents in tizzy with the pace he has been going about in both the field as also in taking on rival NC in a hard hitting manner and targetting Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on a host of the statements he made recently. PDP's pro active mode is in sharp contrast to the scene in other key players in LS contest like Congress, BJP and even its traditional rival NC , which are yet in hibernation. |
