| Pose a challenge to separatists | | Kashmiris run for unity | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 17: Though separatists and their mentors across the border are trying hard to keep the pot boiling in Kashmir valley trying hard to intensify the so-called movement, the common Kashmiri is totally disillusioned with the catchy slogans and wants restoration of peace once and for all. Fed up with the catchy and hollow slogans of separatists for over 25 years now who were responsible for the blood of innocent people in the Valley, there is a fast change in the mindset of the people who want to come closer to mainstream parties than to oblige the separatists including factions of Hurriyat Conference, JKLF and other secessionist organizations. According to sources the changing mind of the people in Valley and a shift in their thinking can be gauged from the fact that during the run for unity organized by ICCC hundreds of Kashmiris including youth, children and elderly persons participated in it in three district head quarters of centre Kashmir district of Srinagar , South Kashmir district of Anantnag and North Kashmir district of Baramulla giving a befitting reply to separatists and their mentors across the border. The political analysts term it a great victory for mainstream parties in Valley as well as Indian democracy which has given stronger roots. It is victory for the mainstream organizations and nation as hundreds of Kashmir's turned up for the run for unity in three district headquarters of Valley without any fear or threat said, Mushtaq Noorabadi BJP Muslim Morcha State president. The people are now fed up with the militancy, separatism and hollow and catchy slogans and they have decided to join the national mainstream to reap the benefits of democracy and progress like other states of the country, he said, adding there are no takers for the separatists slogans now in Valley. Noorabadi, however, admitted that Pakistan has not given up its anti India tirade and it was continuously pushing armed desperados in the State to keep pot boiling with the help of separatist organization. But with the firm resolve of the people of Valley they will be defeated once for all as the people have seen through their game plan after witnessing a huge destruction over these years. There is such a change in Valley that people want to join more and more national programmes to teach separatists a lesson and both State and Central Governments as well as mainstream parties should take an initiative in this regard, he said. Hundreds of people joined the run for unity on December 15 at Srinagar from Nehru Park to Hotel Centaur. Likewise hundreds of Kashmiris also joined the run for unity in Baramulla and Anantnag towns to send a clear message around that Kashmir is India and India is Kashmir and no Kashmiri in future can be misled by self seekers and prophets of doom, said Ghulam Mohammad Mir one of the organizers of the race. It is a challenge to separatists who have been marginalized in the Valley and they can no longer mislead and hoodwink the common Kashmiri, said Mohammed Yousf another organizer of the race. |
