Jammu, Dec 17 : Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation (JPBEF) today held protest demonstration in support of their demand of immediate wage revision and extended support to all India bank strike to observe one day strike on December 18 at the call of United Forum of Bank Unions. The Forum comprised of the 9 Trade Unions (AIBEA-AIBOC-NCBE-AIBOA-BEFI-INEF-INBOC-NOBW-NOBO). While addressing the gathering Arun Kumar Gupta, General Secretary, JPBEF informed that in banking sector, one million/10 lakh bank employees and officers of public sector banks, private banks and foreign banks will observe one day all India strike on 18th December, 2013 demanding immediate wage revision settlement and protesting against the ongoing banking sector reforms. The last wage settlement in the banking sector expired in October, 2012 and hence a revised settlement is due from November, 2012. But since the last one year, the discussions have been very tardy and hence United Forum of Bank Unions gave the strike call. On 14th Dec' 2013, the Indian Banks Association (IBA) called the Unions for talks and made their offer which was found to be too low and hence not acceptable to the Unions. The gathering was also addressed by various leaders of Bank Employees and Officers, who among others Com. Vijay Zutshi, Com. Ashwani Pardhan, Com. R.K.Bamba, Com. Manjit Singh, Com. Hardev Singh, Com. Sumritra Kher, Com. T.K.Tikoo,Com. Anil Gupta, Com. V.K.Dutta, Com. Rama Kant,Com. Vinod Gupta, Com. R.K.Bhat, Com. Jatinder Kumar, Com. Kamal Kundal & Com. Avinash Dogra. |
